Preparation and wear properties of high-vanadium alloy composite layer

Abstract A high-vanadium alloy composite layer was prepared on the surface of a carbon steel using cast technology, and wear properties were investigated. The results showed that microstructure composed primary vanadium carbides (VC), flake martensite, residual austenite, fine VC. hardness 63 HRC. abrasive resistance impact increased by 60% 26%, respectively, compared with those high-chromium iron. excellent is attributed to high-hardness carbide large number secondary precipitated out layer.
